A phylum is a taxonomic primary subdivision that groups together organisms that have the same body plan. As in nature, the micro world is the elemental building blocks of the macro world. The Phylum Series, on paper, are made of collaged paper square elements composed in a grid. In this series, I was playing with some traditions of landscape- primarily the horizon ]or the relationship between the earth and the sky. On the other hands, I pondered our desire to control and name nature. Hence, the title Phylum and the grid from which things seem to “grow”.
